Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) started an important weekend at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona in style – securing the top spot on the opening day of action. The #96 continues to battle for the runner-up spot in the Championship and finished Friday ahead of David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports), who set a strong late time to secure second. Muñoz' impressive performance placed him in front of Angel Piqueras (Leopard Racing), who carried his momentum from FP into Practice 1.

It was a cold start to Friday’s action, with Free Practice kickstarting the weekend and Piqueras becoming the fastest rider out of the gates. The Spaniard set a strong 1:47.281, setting the stage for Practice 1, where Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets – MSI) grabbed the top spot in the early moments of the session. Times continued to drop, with tension building towards the end of Practice 1 as Holgado went quickest in the closing minutes - clocking a 1:46.568.
Meanwhile, Joel Kelso completed a great starting point for the BOE Motorsports squad, claiming fourth and beating Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), who rounded out the top five. The #95 is currently tied on points with Holgado in the Championship and will be aiming to continue his competitive form after ending Friday in front of Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Racing). The Spaniard was sixth and placed in front of Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo), who had a confidence-boosting start to the weekend and ended Friday with FleetSafe Honda - MLav Racing’s Scott Ogden in pursuit.
