Viñales to sit out remainder of German GP

The #12 joins teammate Bastianini on the sidelines after a weekend of bad luck for Red Bull KTM Tech3

Red Bull KTM Tech3 have confirmed that Maverick Viñales won’t take part in the rest of the Liqui Moly Grand Prix of Germany after the #12 crashed in MotoGP Q2.

Viñales suffered a dislocated left shoulder, put back in place, but then headed to local hospital for more checks where a small fracture was also confirmed. The Tech3 squad say they’ll assess whether or not he’ll be back for Brno once the recovery timings are a little clearer.

That compounds a run of bad luck for the team as Enea Bastianini is also out of action this weekend following a diagnosis of appendicitis before arriving in Germany. The ‘Beast’ is on the mend without surgery, but won’t be racing here.

We hope to see both back on track soon!
