Confirmed: Acosta joins Marc Marquez at Ducati for 2027 and 2028

The #37 will switch orange for red next season as he moves to the Ducati Lenovo Team

Rumour no more: it’s official. Pedro Acosta will move to the Ducati Lenovo Team for 2027 and 2028, pairing seven-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez.

Acosta won both world titles in Moto3 and Moto2 in just three years since his debut in the World Championship. The #37 also impressed on his MotoGP debut, winning the Rookie of the Year title in 2024, finishing fourth in the overall standings in 2025, and achieving 13 podiums.

He also arrived and immediately duelled Marc Marquez in his very first MotoGP race – and they’ve repeated that ballet several times since. From 2027, they’ll be doing so in the same colours, in the same garage.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding: "We are happy to welcome Pedro to the Ducati Lenovo Team. He is one of the most talented and promising young riders on the MotoGP scene and, in a very short time, he has shown truly remarkable technical and competitive growth. We strongly believe in his potential, and investing in profiles like his is part of the strategy with which we are building Ducati's future in MotoGP. The skills Pedro has already demonstrated, combined with his mentality and the determination with which he works, together with the Team's support and the performance of the Desmosedici GP, represent the ideal foundation for further growth. Together with Marc, he will form a highly competitive pairing: an exciting challenge for Ducati Corse and a clear signal of our ambitions for the coming seasons.”

Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse: “Pedro represents the ideal candidate for the future of the Ducati Lenovo Team. After Marc's confirmation, we wanted to add a young and fast rider to the Desmosedici GP development project. Pedro, in addition to being an undisputed talent, has demonstrated extraordinary precocity. In just under six years in the Championship, he has won two titles in the lower classes and achieved truly convincing performances in MotoGP. His arrival in the Team will be a stimulus for everyone; he will help us grow, and we will support him on the path to full maturity as a rider. I am confident that, with the encouragement of our Team and given the right amount of time, his contribution, for sure, will ensure a further step forward in terms of performance and goals.”
