THURSDAY: Media Day ignites the Japanese GP
We’ve got your usual entertainment sorted on Thursday afternoon, with MotoGP GearUp kicking off proceedings. Jack Appleyard and Louis Suddaby will bring you the latest gossip, news and stories from the paddock at 15:30 Local Time (UTC +9). Afterwards, we head straight over to the pre-event Press Conference as Jorge Martin, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and home hero Ai Ogura (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) take to the stage to answer questions from the world’s media at 16:00!
FRIDAY: bikes roar onto Motegi
Engines fire up from 09:00 on Friday morning, with Moto3 beginning the action before Moto2 head out for FP1 at 09:50. The premier class will be on circuit for the first time at 10:45, with MotoGP FP1 starting the weekend. Following a short bite of lunch, Moto3 kick off the afternoon schedule at 13:15 with an important Practice. Moto2 are up next at 14:05 before MotoGP rounds off a busy day of action at 15:00 as a crucial MotoGP Practice gets underway, where the field fights for direct entry into Q2.
SATURDAY: qualifying and Sprint drama
You’ve got to set your alarm clocks early on Saturday, with Moto3 FP2 starting a bumper schedule at 08:40 before the Moto2 field heads out at 09:25. MotoGP FP2 gets underway at 10:10 before the fight for pole position begins, with qualifying starting at 10:50. After a short break, Moto3 qualifying starts at 12:45 before the Moto2 field sets the grid from 13:40. We’ve then got our first racing action! That’s right, the MotoGP Tissot Sprint goes lights out at 15:00, to battle across 12 laps of Motegi.
SUNDAY: blockbuster race day in Japan
We’re back to our usual Sunday programme, with MotoGP Warm Up becoming our first track action at 09:40. That’s all before Moto3 head onto the grid, with 17 laps of action beginning at 11:00. Moto2 are next on Sunday’s race day schedule, battling across 19 laps from 12:15. Then it’s time for the main event as the MotoGP stars return for the Japanese GP at 14:00. Once racing is complete, we’ve got all the analysis in After the Flag at 15:20 before the post-GP Press Conference starts at 15:50!
