The younger brother of Raul Fernandez, Adrian learned his trade in the FIM CEV Repsol Championships, first in the European Talent Cup from 2017 to 2018, and then in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, where he was seventh in the 2020 edition, with a podium in Estoril his best result. That same year, he also competed in the Portuguese GP with the Rivacold Snipers Team to make up for the absence of Filip Salac, in an event in which he finished close to the points, convincing Max Biaggi to give him a seat with Sterilgarda Max Racing Team in Moto3™ for 2021. A trying first season saw multiple DNFs, but a season-best P6 at the French GP proved a highlight. However, after a challenging campaign in 2022, the Spanish rider would be out of the World Championship for 2023. Nevertheless, a twist in the script led him to compete in the final rounds of the season as a substitute for Tatsuki Suzuki. With two top five finishes in six races, Adrian Fernandez secured a contract extension for 2024 after a remarkable run saw the Spanish rider secure three consecutive podiums. Building on this impressive form, Fernandez will remain at Leopard Racing for 2025 as he continues to search for his first Grand Prix victory.
