Azlan Shah from Malaysia made his first appearance in the Moto2™ World Championship in 2013, as a substitute for Yuki Takahashi at Idemitsu Honda Team Asia from the San Marino Grand Prix onwards. That same season, he claimed the Asian Supersport title. Previously, Shah had won the Malaysian Super Series in Supersport (2009 and 2010) and Superbikes (2011). In 2014 he continued to race in Tadayuki Okada’s team, alongside Takaaki Nakagami, with the pair remaining together in 2015. It was not an easy campaign but a highlight came in Motegi when he raced to fourth, Valentino Rossi congratulating him after the event. For 2016 he moved to the JPMoto Malaysia squad, but remained on Kalex machine.
