Rider Story

Breaking ground as the first woman to race in the Moto2 class, Elena Rosell made her debut at the Assen circuit in 2011 when she filled in for the injured Julián Simón. Her first foray was disappointing as Rosell crashed three times during the rainy practice sessions and did not make the final qualifying. However, Jorge 'Aspar' Martinez was impressed with Rosell and invited to race as a wildcard at the Aragon and Valencia GPs where she finished 33rd and 25th respectively. Rosell also raced in the last three rounds of the CEV Moto2 Championship with the Aspar sponsored Team Laglisse. The 25-year-old from Valencia makes history again in 2012 as the first woman to race full time in the Moto2 World Championship class, joining the QMMF Racing Team.
