Like Olivier Jacque, Regis Laconi and Julien Allemand, Vincent Phillipe is a product of the French Speed Team. Third in the European Championship in 1999, Phillipe was brought into the Fausto Gresini Grand Prix team to ride a 250 Honda in 2000. Alongside Daijiro Katoh, struggled to match the performances of his team-mate and finished 24th overall. With a best ever placing of tenth to his name, Phillipe failed to secure a ride for 2001 and made just one appearance as a wildcard at Sachsenring. However, he made his return to the 250 World Championship entry list for 2002 and will ride an Aprilia in the Equipe de France Scrab GP team.
