The summer holidays are over as MotoGP™ gets set for the intense run to Valencia’s November finale, which begins with a very special weekend at the 2024 Monster Energy British Grand Prix.
The historic Silverstone will host a 75th anniversary celebration weekend, with vintage style meeting modern spectacle in the UK. If you’re wondering what that entails, here’s a rundown of what fans can expect.
Classic liveries reveal
On Thursday between 14:00 and 15:00 local time (UTC +1), a live programme will be aired on YouTube in Silverstone’s pitlane as each team takes the covers off their one-off 75-year celebration liveries they’ll run on Sunday.
Fans attending the Two Wheels for Life pitlane walk will be there to witness the bikes close up too, so there is set to be a great atmosphere to kickstart the weekend.
In addition, during the MotoGP™ GearUP, every bike will be lined up on the start/finish straight for a photo as we get to see the liveries in all their glory. What’s more, fans will be able to vote on their favourite paint scheme.
A historic #BritishGP 🇬🇧 awaits this weekend! ✨

Mike Trimby to be named a MotoGP™ Legend
The late Mike Trimby, who was the founder and CEO of IRTA and someone who played a pivotal role in shaping the sport MotoGP™ has become, will be named a MotoGP™ Legend on Friday at 12:30. Trimby will become the first non-rider to be made an official Legend.
Classic motorcycle exhibition
The exhibition, which will be held in the Silverstone Wing from Thursday to Sunday, brings together – for the first time in the UK – 30 bikes that have told the story of the World Championship between 1949 and the present day.
From the AJS Porcupine to Barry Sheene’s title-winning Suzuki, the last of the 500cc two-strokes and machines from the modern era, the special exhibition will be a nostalgic trip for motorcycle racing enthusiasts, and it will be open to visiting fans across the four days.
And more…
Plenty of other 75th birthday-flavoured happenings will be taking place across the weekend at Silverstone, as the 2024 MotoGP™ campaign revs back into life in a brilliantly unique Round 10.
