Oliveira undergoes surgery on fractured wrist

The Portuguese star is set for a period on the sidelines

Miguel Oliveira has undergone surgery in Portugal to treat a fractured right wrist. The Trackhouse Racing rider sustained the injury after a heavy fall during FP1 at the Indonesian GP, which forced him to withdraw from the event and return to Europe. On Monday, he was admitted to a hospital in Lisbon, where surgeons fitted a plate to stabilize the fracture. Oliveira is now set for a recovery period and is expected to miss both the Japanese and Australian Grands Prix, as stated by his official website.
