Fahrer-Geschichte

Marcel Schrötter started out in the German 125cc National Championship in 2007 before he took back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009. In the 2008 season the youngster made his World Championship debut as a wildcard rider at Sachsenring, before three further rides in 2009 with a highly impressive fifth place in the final round of the season at Valencia. After his full debut in 2010, Schrötter joined the newly formed Mahindra Racing in 2011, for which he raced for almost a year and a half, first in the 125 and then the Moto3™ World Championship. The German then moved up to Moto2™and finished 10th overall in 2014, before a switch to the AGR Team in 2016 saw him have another year of solid points scoring and top tens. For 2017, Schrötter moved to the Dynavolt Intact GP squad and had some solid results before the latter half of the season was affected by injury. He remained with the team in 2018 and secured his first Grand Prix podium, by finishing third at the San Marino GP. A third season with Dynavolt Intact GP in 2019 started with podiums in the Qatar opener and then in the Americas GP, while the German GP saw him return to the rostrum in front of his home crowd. No victory came that season, nor in 2020 where he reached the podium just once, or 2021. Coming into his ninth season in the intermediate class, Schrötter will be targeting a maiden win in 2022.
