Morbidelli sidelined from Sunday action at the Sachsenring

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider crashed in the Sprint and will sit out the GP due to pain in his shoulder

Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) will be forced to watch from the sidelines on Sunday after the Italian crashed out of the Tissot Sprint in Germany. The #21 is suffering from pain in his shoulder and the VR46 team confirmed he'll sit it out and return to Italy for further checks.

Morbidelli joins Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech3) in not taking to the grid after the KTM rider likewise injured his shoulder on Saturday, in his case in Q2. The bad luck leaves both officially "unfit" and we await news of whether they'll be back to try and compete in Brno.

MotoGP sends them both well wishes, and we hope we'll see both back to fighting fit soon!
