Will Bastianini’s momentum roll into Indonesia?

Ahead of the Indonesian GP, take a look at what you should consider for MotoGP™ Fantasy

MotoGP™ roars back into action for Round 15 of the season at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. It is the second part of an unpredictable triple header, where further action awaits. There are high stakes and further MotoGP™ Fantasy prizes up for grabs, so ahead of the Indonesian GP, here is what you should consider.

What happened last time out?

It was an unbelievable Emilia-Romagna GP, with Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) snatching victory in an intense final lap pass at Turn 4. The Italian’s victory allowed Bastianini to become the top point scorer - claiming 44 Fantasy points. ‘The Beast’ made a firm move on Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), with the #89 crossing the line in second on a crucial day for the Championship. Martin walked away from the weekend with an extra 38 Fantasy points for anyone with the Spaniard in their team.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) took the final spot on the podium, while reigning World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) crashed out on Lap 21 – taking just 27 Fantasy points. Regarding teams, the Ducati Lenovo Team were the top point scorers thanks to Bastianini’s win. It was a historic win for the Bologna brand, with Ducati ending the weekend as the top manufacturer, taking their 100th win and the Constructors’ World Championship in the process.

Who should I add to my team?

As the paddock returns to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, you need to consider the obvious – Championship leader Martin. The Spaniard is a rider on fire at the moment and showed incredible pace in the Sprint last year, but it will take a significant amount of your budget away at $4.9M. Then there is Bagnaia, who you cannot rule out, with the reigning World Champion taking the Indonesian GP victory last season. However, Bagnaia will still take a good chunk of your budget at a slightly cheaper $4.8M.

Bastianini ($5M) could also be a good option, with the Italian securing his second win of the season last time out and is showing an incredible form. The Italian continues to have an incredible season, grabbing third in the standings at the Emilia-Romagna GP. Marc Marquez ($5M) could be a strong pick, as well as Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 MotoGP™ Team), with the #72 bagging a top five finish in the 2023 Indonesian GP.

Over at Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ Team) could be a strong pick for your Fantasy team. The Frenchman has finished on the podium in the last two appearances at the Mandalika International Circuit and will cost just $1.6M. Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ Team) will also be setting sights on a strong result as he heads to Indonesia for the first time as a Yamaha rider and is fully recovered - costing just $1.5M.

Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) will take away $1.6M of your budget, with the #12 showing phenomenal form so far in 2024. Viñales also took the runner-up spot last year at this circuit. Meanwhile, over at Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Brad Binder may be a great pick at $3.3M, with the South African securing a crucial sixth place finish last year.

Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing) could be an outside pick, with the Portuguese star previously taking victory in the wet at the 2022 Indonesian GP. The #88 will cost just $1.7M and will head to Mandalika International Circuit for the second time on board an Aprilia.

It is difficult to look past the 2024 Constructors’ World Champion, Ducati ($4.9M) for your Fantasy team. However, if you’re looking for something slightly cheaper, Aprilia ($1.8M) could be a good pick for this weekend, with Oliveira and Viñales previously showing standout performances at this venue.
