Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was celebrated by fans after the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix in Barcelona, receiving the Qatar Airways Best Take Off'award for his brilliant start in Sunday’s race, which allowed him to hold onto the lead after starting from pole position.
The Italian rider executed a perfect move on his main rival, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing), diving inside at Turn 1 to take the advantage. He quickly positioned himself behind his teammate, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team), and, moments later, passed the #23 to take the race lead, which he maintained until the checkered flag.
Despite Bagnaia’s double victory at the #SolidarityGP, his 24-point deficit coming into Barcelona proved insurmountable. Martín secured his first MotoGP™ Championship with a third-place finish, but Bagnaia’s flawless performance was nonetheless acknowledged and celebrated by the fans.
