Hector Barbera was a runner-up in both the 125 World Championship, in 2004, as well as the 250 World Championship in 2009 on his way to MotoGP™. In 2010 Barbera debuted in the premier class with Aspar’s new MotoGP™ team, and scored points in every race as well as getting a good number of top ten results. The following year Barbera took a best finish of P6 in Jerez, before a stint with Pramac Racing Team saw the Spaniard then move to his current home at Avintia Racing – where he improved his best ever result as he came home fourth in Malaysia. Barbera remained with Avintia for 2017, riding the 2016 Ducati, and had a tough year. Now he moves to Moto2™ with Pons HP 40, looking to challenge at the front from the outset.
