Lorenzo Dalla Porta made his World Championship debut in 2015 as a replacement for Isaac Viñales in the Husqvarana Factory Laglisse team. The opportunity arose as he had raced for the Laglisse outfit in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship, and he split his time between the two series. In the CEV he took ninth in the championship, including a third place finish at Jerez. His adaption to the World Championship was rapid and he twice scored points, first with a stand out eighth in Silverstone and then again with 11th in Misano. Dalla Porta then won the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship in 2016, as well as appearing on the world stage once again in a number of Grands Prix – replacing Philipp Oetll in Mugello, Jorge Navarro in Assen and then Romano Fenati from Silverstone on. For 2017, the Italian raced with the Pull&Bear Aspar Mahindra Team. After a more difficult year, 2018 saw him switch to Leopard Racing and take his first podiums, as well as a first race win. Remaining with the team for the following season, 2019 is a year Dalla Porta will never forget. Four wins, six P2s and one P3 saw the Italian crowned as the 2019 Moto3™ World Champion. After a sensational season, Dalla Porta made the step up to the intermediate class with Italtrans Racing Team for 2020. It proved a year of adaptation for Dalla Porta though, managing to crack the points just twice while 2021 was another year of learning for the Italian. 2022 saw some slight improvements, scoring seven point scoring finishes, and it was enough to convince Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team to hand him a chance for 2023. Lorenzo Dalla Porta entró en la escena internacional del motociclismo al conquistar el campeonato italiano de 125cc con Honda en la temporada 2012. En 2013 y 2014 corrió en el Campeonato Italiano de Moto3 y a partir de 2015 en el FIM CEV Repsol. Mediada la temporada 2015 compaginó el CEV con el Campeonato del Mundo de Moto3™, ya que su equipo -LaGlisse- le eligió para sustituir a Isaac Viñales a partir de la ronda de Indianápolis, con un quinto puesto como mejor resultado en la carrera de San Marino. En 2016, tras la baja de Fenati, se incorporó a las filas del SKY Racing Team VR46. En 2017 formó parte del equipo Aspar para seguir creciendo en el Campeonato del Mundo de Moto3™ al manillar de una Mahindra, moto que no pudo exprimir en una temporada para olvidar. En 2018, en cambio, llegó su confirmación con el Leopard Racing: su primera victoria, en Misano, y 4 podios que le consolidaron como piloto de futuro. Un año después, en efecto, tocaría la gloria con 4 triunfos y otros 7 podios que le reportarían el título mundial de la clase ligera por delante de Aron Canet. Un pasaporte directo a Moto2™ de la mano del Italtrans Racing Team, viviendo un primer año complejo a la espera de redimirse en 2021 con la misma estructura. Sin embargo, 2021 supondría otro año de aprendizaje para el italiano, que en 2022 lograría mejorar. Llegaría a puntuar hasta en 7 ocasiones y pese a no situarse dentro del foco de máxima atención, aquellas actuaciones le valdrían para ganarse la confianza del Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team, que contará con él para la campaña 2023.
