Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) is heading for surgery after his tough end to the Motul GP of the Netherlands. The #73, who is second in the standings, crashed out in an incident with Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) at Assen and has been diagnosed with a fracture in his left hand.
The FIM MotoGP Stewards deemed the clash a racing incident, aka bad luck in the heat of battle, and the luck got worse after the broken bone and unfit was confirmed for the #73. Now he will head for surgery back in Barcelona, as confirmed by his team BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP and Alex himself after he got back from his medical check.
