David Muñoz started competing in Spain at the age of nine. In 2018, the Andalusian joined the European Talent Cup. In the space of two seasons, he scored three podiums, including a win at MotorLand. From 2020, he joined the FIM CEV Repsol in Moto3™, where he had a rather quiet start and the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup. His first season ended with three top three finishes before adding seven more in 2021, including two victories. This was good enough for him to finish 3rd overall. In the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, he also made good progress, with three top three results, in addition to his two wins at Aragon and Jerez. The young Spaniard was then handed the chance to impress in Moto3™ on a full-time basis in 2022, debuting at the Italian GP. Muñoz made an almost instant impact, claiming P2 in just his second race in Catalunya. He added another podium in Austria as he showed he wasn’t afraid to mix it with the big names in the class. In 2023, the #64 completed his first full season in the World Championship, once again with the same team. Securing two additional podiums and a top 10 finish overall, it was an impressive season. The Spanish rider would go on to improve in 2024, achieving four podiums throughout the season. However, Muñoz now heads to the Intact GP team for a highly anticipated season, where he will look to join the title battle.
