Mario Aji was introduced to motocross by his father and started racing at the age of 10 before making the switch to asphalt. In 2018, the Indonesian competed in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, a campaign in which he finished 5th with four podiums and a win, alongside his participation in the Asia Road Race Championship in the 250cc class, where he was 6th. For the next three seasons, he combined the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup with the FIM CEV Repsol in Moto3™. In these respective championships, he was consistently in the top 15. For 2022, Honda Team Asia handed him a full-time seat. The highlight of his rookie campaign came at his home Grand Prix in Indonesia when he earned a front row start. He managed to crack the point-scoring positions twice in his debut year, and the team would maintain confidence and re-sign him for 2023 before the Indonesian rider was promoted to Moto2™ for the 2024 season. Aji would spend the year adapting to the intermediate class, finishing the year with a best result of 15th, scoring four points across the season. What does 2025 have in-store for Aji as he remains with Honda Team Asia for 2025?
