Jonas Folger was Rookie of the Year in the 2009 125cc World Championship, which included achieving his first ever podium finish. Moving to Aki Ajo’s team for 2011, Folger took his inaugural win that year, plus another victory and seven podiums before joining the intermediate class in 2014 with the AGR Team. He remained with that team a second Moto2™ season, before scoring more victories in 2016 with Dynavolt Intact GP. The German stepped up into the premier class to join the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in 2017 and impressed with a solid start before a stunning home GP at the Sachsenring saw him take second and his first premier class podium finish. Unfortunately, health concerns saw him finish his first MotoGP™ season five races early, but we'd see Folger back on a MotoGP™ bike at the 2023 Sepang Test as he began his new role as KTM Test Rider. With Pol Espargaro injured, Folger will replace the Spaniard at GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 from the Americas GP until Espargaro is fit to return.
