Rider Story

Born in 1999, Mattia Casadei participated in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2015 before returning to the Italian Championship, racing in the Moto3™ and Supersport 600 categories with Paolo Simoncelli's setups. In 2019, Casadei will make the jump to the MotoE™ machine in the colours of team Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse, continuing to work with Paolo Simoncelli. Mattia Casadei participated in the CIV Supersport 600 after having ridden with Paolo Simoncelli's team in the CIV Moto3 ™ and the Junior World Championship. He also participated in the Red Bull Rookies Cup for two seasons, until 2019, when he landed in the Championship of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World also from the hand of Paolo Simoncelli, with the Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse team. In his first campaign with electric motorcycles he got a podium. Something that improved during the 2020 course, thanks to a 3rd position in the GP from Andalusia and a 2nd place in the Emilia-Romagna GP Casadei finished the season in 5th position and in 2021 he will try to improve by maintaining his alliance with the Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse team. In his first campaign win the E-class he earned a podium place. Something that he improved during the 2020 course, thanks to a P3 in the Andalucia GP and a second place in the Emilia-Romagna GP. Casadei finished the season 5th overall and repeated the feat after claiming three more podiums in 2021. In 2022, he had an outstanding season alongside Pons Racing 40, securing two pole positions, five podium finishes, and two victories. This remarkable performance placed him 4th overall and established him as one of the clear contenders for the 2023 campaign. And indeed, Casadei secured the first MotoE™ World Championship just before the last race of the season, thanks to five more victories and five additional podium finishes. Can he defend his title in 2024, this time with the LCR E-Team?
